District Seven began in 1928 when the northern most edge of the city only reached out to West Capitol Drive. The District was originally
staffed by Captain Hugo Peterson, three Sergeants and forty eight Patrolmen. Located at 3126 North 36th Street, the station house cost
about $76,000 to build. The first arrest occurred seven hours after the station opened when a suspect was brought in on a assault and
battery warrant.
In 1981, the District moved across North 36th Street to its current location at 3626 West Fond du Lac Avenue.
